Omaha friends
So I guess it’s up to me to add even more international flavour to Omaha-Records by creating a post in English. My German just takes too much effort and is not exactly “Hoch-”.
Even though some weeks have passed already, I wanted to write something about the Omaha weekend in Nuremberg. Many people get weird ideas when they hear about a group of guys meeting for a weekend after they got to know each other over the net… But they could be no farther from the truth.

The weekend started off with a Tjian concert at Z-Bau. Except for some weird blond Tokio fan sabotaging Domi and Beni’s encore, it was pretty good. Then it went on to Irish Pub “The Druid” where everyone performed and talked until… uhhh late. After a few hours of sleep and having waved goodbye our Austrian friends we started a hung-over jam session. Besides a Karma Police gangsta rap version, we sang along with the Omaha Compilation #2 hits of Daantje and Herr Hund. Tjian “lectured” us on “Islands”, Gisbert played a great new song. And One is not a new Van de’s song, but thanks for the compliment…
Other highlights for me were singing and screaming along with Gisbert to NOFX’s White Thrash album while driving to Lauf for the PA-system or the Grunge discussion with Herr Hund and Daantje (we seem the old timers on Omaha).
The weekend showed that we have more in common than making music and I can’t wait for the next one.
